- Copy and pasted from a friendWarren Buffett, "I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all
sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.
Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do
likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.
*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*
1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office
and receives no pay when they are out of office.
2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All
funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security
system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system,
and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for
any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans
do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay
will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the
same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American
people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen
made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor,
not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours
should serve their term's), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take
three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive the message. Maybe it is
time.
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!! If you agree with the above, pass it on
my blogs are of my own personal thoughts not that of any group or establishment. They will mostly be of Political nature and a few that will be posted to make you laugh or just sit back and think.

The 1.5% why should we pay the price?
As most of you have seen in the last month or so, the working class Americans are mad at the income level differences between themselves and the extremely rich. The "Occupy Wall Street" movement is stressing that they are the 99% and that since they do the labor that makes these people very rich. The owners should take a break in their pay and give it to the people that make it possible for them to be so ridiculously rich, and they want the Government to fix the problem.
Well I'm mad too, I am part of the 1.5% of this great nations population that has stood or currently stands ready 24 / 7/ 365 to defend the Freedoms and Rights of the other 98.5% of this nations population. I will make that crystal clear, this number includes the men and women that served and have gotten out and drawing benefits and the Ready Reserve, and National Guard, and Coast Guard. This number also reflects the injured that are drawing disability due to injuries at war or training for war. Who is standing up for our Rights and pay while we defend those of the rest of the Nations?
Congress wants to make defense budget cuts and one of those cuts include (but not limited to) retirement benefits for those that have served honorably. They also want to cut the medical benefits for these people. Here is a bit of useless information, if a Congress person serves one complete term, they get retirement benefits for life, that's 6 years for a lifetime of benefits. A Soldier has to give 20 years to get benefits of 50%. Does that add up? I don't think so. In 2011 the defense budget was $964 Billion of which $768 Billion was for the military. The Veterans portion was $141 Billion. The General Government used $33 Billion in 2011 and $20 billion of that for the different branch's and $12 billion for general services. There are a lot of sub categories in there so they can justify that spending one such slot was the Sergeant of Arms to guard the doors. Not 100% sure about this, but couldn't they get a detail for MP's, Old Guard Soldiers, or Marines to do this for less than $100 million a year? I bet they could. There are a bunch of things they could cut out of their budget to help the economy and give back to the people. Congress works about 6 months of the year? I haven't found definitive times on this but its not year round plus they can take vacation when ever they want during session this is why at any given time you can watch CSPAN and see that not all 100 seats are full during sessions to vote on things.
I believe that Congress is running ramp-id, making laws and passing bills for their own benefit's. The people need to speak out, and I don't mean just these Occupy City and state capitals sit ins, if you want them to listen, vote them out of a job and put new people in these positions that will make this country better. There isn't always a clear person to vote for during the elections. do a little research and if you don't like the choices write in a name. Same with the Presidency, Congress picks who they think shares their views on how to run the Government. What they should remember is that the few protect the many and they should not make it difficult for us to do our jobs and provide for our families.
The military personnel should not take a pay cut or a cut in the research and development in equipment that will keep them safer in combat. Yes, we volunteered to do this job but we have families to feed and bills to pay just like the other 98.5%. the difference is We will fight for our Rights and Freedoms and the rest of you just sit on your collective butts and cry about what rights you have and that they are being abused or threatened. That's my personal opinion. I also don't think you should be able to serve in the Federal Government unless you serve your Country in the military for a minimum of 3 years, that way you can see how your defenders live and have a real perspective on military life and what loyalty to country means.

The Begining
Hello to whomever reads these posts.
I have decided to post these blogs to exercise my mind and rights. I will be upfront with you all; these are my personal thoughts on things I see or read in the news today or the past, some of them will have little to do with much of anything other them my beliefs on the matters. I have not blogged before so I'm not sure of all the rules but most of the time I will try not to offend any one person in general LOL. I believe that once a post is made people can comment on them if so I will say this, I am not the Government I don't need to keep your comments on my blog if they offend me or my family, friends or are obscene.
I do believe in the First Amendment but with that said you should read and understand that right before you post something. Yes all Americans have the right to freedom of speech, but understand that having the right to free speech comes with the right of free thought and they are not the same. There are some limits to our freedoms if all you have read is the first few words so as to use them as a " I have the Freedom of Speech right" you might want to read all that it implies and the rules that go along with it.
I am very Patriotic and believe in the theory of how our Government is supposed to work. I do however think the system is currently not on track with what our forefathers had in mind nor with what the People of America want at this time.
As you can see already, some of my posts will be political in nature, but hey, that's what I want to talk about. I feel that I am not the only person in this country that has similar thoughts on the issues I will post about. I will try to do some research about the subject instead of just what someone might have told me or hearsay. This will also be a learning experience for me. I hope you all enjoy it and we can all learn something or if nothing else get some thoughts off our chests.
